A few photos of the view from our bedroom in the villa.
For the most part, we skipped breakfast and headed into town. After a little shopping, we stopped at Alessandro's shop for a light lunch of pizza. As usual, we started with some water and wine.
According to the price, we ordered what we thought were personal pizzas. We were incorrect, but our light lunch ensued anyway.
After we each made our attempt at eating the pizzas, we asked for the check... and dessert appeared instead. Alessandro sent us each a treat!
Our next stop was the museum of wine. We have walked by this many times, but we have never stopped in. It was quite interesting and I knew that there was a surprise at the end of the tour and this was another reason that I wanted to stop.
The largest collection of wine in Italy!
You more or less buy a debit card, stick it in the machine and try whatever you like before purchasing.
If you simply wanted to sit for a drink, you could select the size of the pour as well.
We purchased several bottles for the villa and I shipped home three very old bottles.
We still needed our chickens for tonight, so we went to another famous butcher that doesn't speak any English, but she is the only meat shop with chickens, so we ventured in. She is a ball to talk to, but it was all too fast for any of us to understand.
We think that this was a picture of her with the president of Italy. She had several pictures of herself over the years.
Her scooter is usually outside. Maybe she wasn't quite open, yet.
Davin and his chickens. The head and feet are still on them in the store, but she cut them off and cleaned it when we purchased them.
The reason that we planned on a museum day and dinner at the villa was because it was suppose to rain today. The clouds set in moments after we returned to villa and it rained rather hard for a few hours, but all was well as we ate indoors.
The chickens are about to go in the oven.
An action shot by Kelly as Davin prepared the meets, cheeses, and a fantastic balsamic that Brian and Sadie found while I poured from our magnum of La Forra Nozzole.
I was finishing my blog for the previous day.
Caprese for the secondi.
After dinner, the sky cleared and a double rainbow appeared.
I put on my bigger lens and took some pictures of the hillside. This is the winery on the top of our hill.
A house in the distance on the hill above Greve.
Today's damage.
